Picture Perfect

Having pictures of your newborn taken may be the last thing on your mind after giving birth, but trust me when I say that you won't regret taking the time to do so once you see the final product! We were so LUCKY with the amazing images that were captured, I feel like we don't have enough wall space to display them all! (But I guess when it is your child, you are biased, right?)

Bump Club Chicago's very own Baby J was lucky enough to be photographed by two VERY talented and amazing local photographers during her first two weeks out of the womb. Both Laura Templin Photography and Suzanne Brown from Simply By Suzy take incredibly beautiful pictures that you are sure to treasure forever. Baby J chose the one day not to sleep when Laura came over to take her picture as a "sleepy newborn". Lucky for us, Laura is amazing and was able to get this awesome shot of her at only six days old!

Laura herself is a mother of three---so she is very familiar with babies and kids. She and her assistant came into my house and with all of their props spent a few hours dedicated to getting the perfect shot of our bundle of joy. Check out her work and give her a call, she also is great with kids and families and will be taking pictures at Bump Club Chicago's Annual Holiday Party on December 18th.

Simply By Suzy

Baby J was a bit sleepier the day that Suzanne Brown and her mom came over to take her picture. Suzy is also trained as a doula and receiving her Masters in Maternal/Child Health from UIC. Aside from newborn and maternity photography, Suzy is very passionate about supporting women through pregnancy and childbirth and is proud to be one of only a few photographers in the Chicagoland area who offers both doula and birth photography services. Suzy captured these beautiful pictures of Baby J during our shoot---one of them making the cut for our 2010 holiday card! Make sure to check out all of her work on her website!

With Suzy's background, she is able to capture an entire "birth story" starting with your pregnancy and ending with shots of your newborn. She packages the final product for you in a beautiful silk frame accompanying the digital images.

Many BCCers have used them both and I know share my sentiments. My word of advice---contact them before you deliver, give them your due date and work out all of the details before heading to the hospital. That way you have the process all set up for when you bring the baby home!
